COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP RESIDENTS,

UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, THE FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP HALL WILL NOT BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC DUE TO GOVERNOR WHITMER'S "STAY HOME ORDER", EO 2020-21, ISSUED MONDAY, MARCH 23, 2020 IN REFERENCE TO COVID-19. OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS WILL CONTINUE WORKING IN ORDER TO PERFORM NECESSARY GOVERNMENT ACTIVITIES. OTHER TOWNSHIP EMPLOYEES WILL ONLY WORK IF CRITICALLY NECESSARY, TO HELP WITH THESE NECESSARY GOVERNMENT ACTIVITIES.

RESIDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO MAKE INQUIRIES BY PHONE 517-431-2320, FAX 517-431-2720, OR EMAIL TO THE TOWNSHIP HALL DURING REGULARLY SCHEDULED HOURS. A BLACK DROP-BOX IS LOCATED TO THE RIGHT OF THE FRONT DOOR FOR DROPPING OFF DOCUMENTS AND WILL BE MONITORED. DOCUMENTS MAY ALSO BE MAILED TO THE FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP HALL, P.O. BOX 101, TIPTON, MI 49287. ELECTED OFFICIALS MAY BE CONTACTED BY PHONE OR EMAIL AS LISTED ON THE WEBSITE. BUILDING, ELECTRICAL, MECHANICAL & PLUMBING PERMIT APPLICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE ON THE TOWNSHIP WEBSITE. COMPLETED PERMIT APPLICATIONS MAY BE PLACED IN THE HALL DROPBOX OR MAILED TO THE TOWNSHIP.  IF ADDITIONAL

THE PLANNING COMMISSION WILL NOT HOLD A JUNE MEETING

DUE TO NO PERTINENT BUSINESS TO CONDUCT.



BOARD OF APPEALS MEETING


The Franklin Township Board of Appeals will meet Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to hear the following variance requests:

1. James & Donna Budde, with property at 270 Evans Trail, Tipton (lots 9-12)
 (FR0-420-0110-00) are requesting to demolish their existing dwelling and
    construct a new single-family dwelling. The property is in the Lake District  
 Overlay Zone. A previous variance has expired, and now the Budde's are
re-applying for the same front yard setback and variance. This request  
will be heard at 7:00 p.m.
2. Eldean Weidmayer, with property at 12857 Carson Hwy, Clinton (FR0-101-
1125-00) is requesting to construct a 14 x 24 foot bathroom addition. The
property is located in the AG Zoning District. Due to the design of the front
yard of the property a 14-foot front yard varince is needed to allow the       
proposed construction. This request will be heard at 7:30 p.m.

CENSUS 2020


IT IS SO IMPORTANT TO COMPLETE THE 2020 CENSUS. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR OUR TOWNSHIP AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES. EVERY YEAR BILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN FEDERAL FUNDING GO TO SCHOOLS, ROADS AND OTHER RESOURCES BASED ON CENSUS DATA. PLEASE  COMPLETE THE CENSUS ON-LINE, BY PHONE, OR BY QUESTIONNAIRE. HOUSEHOLDS THAT DO NOT RESPOND WILL BE FOLLOWED-UP IN PERSON. AN ACCURATE COUNT IS THE GOAL OF EVERY CENSUS. THE RESULTS OF THE CENSUS CAN HAVE A REAL IMPACT ON THE COMMUNITY FOR FUTURE PLANNING AND HOW FUNDS ARE DISTRIBUTED.
